Bergmannstrasse blocked in Bergmann-Kiez: Drivers have to expect restrictions.

From Friday morning, drivers in Bergmann-Kiez (Kreuzberg) have to expect restrictions. According to the traffic information center, Bergmannstraße will be closed to car traffic from Friday to around the beginning of December between Gneisenaustraße, on the Südstern and Baerwaldstraße. The reason for this is road construction work.

The blocking of Bergmannstrasse for car traffic has a direct impact on local mobility in Kreuzberg. Since Bergmannstrasse is a busy main traffic artery, alternative routes will now be heavily frequented. This could lead to additional traffic and traffic jams in the surrounding streets and districts. Local residents and traders along Bergmannstrasse have to adjust to changing conditions and possibly losses in the business.

The blocking also affects local supply, since access to shops and services is difficult for both customers and suppliers. Pedestrians and cyclists are less directly affected by the blocking, but they too could be felt in the form of traffic and construction site traffic.

It remains to be seen how the blocking will affect the local economy and quality of life in Kreuzberg, especially in the run -up to Christmas. It is to be hoped that the road construction work will be completed on time and that Bergmannstrasse will be available again.
