SPD calls for regional consideration of the situation in Syria and Afghanistan

For the SPD's domestic spokesman, Sebastian Hartmann, Syria and Afghanistan are not safe countries. Hartmann emphasized this in an interview with the television station Phoenix. He referred to the assessment that existed before 2021. Last year, the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan after the NATO troops were deducted. Hartmann called for a regional consideration of the situation in the individual countries, since the same rule is not practiced everywhere.

He particularly addressed his expectations of the Federal Foreign Office under the direction of the Greens. You would have to check the conditions under which returns are possible. Hartmann emphasized that Germany was a constitutional state and that nobody attributed anyone in uncertainty or death, and also not serious criminals.

Hartmann also contradicted the voices that support a restrictive migration policy. He described the migration topic charged as charged by the extreme right. He emphasized that there was a migration that one wanted, namely skilled workers. The Social Democrats are therefore striving to support a European asylum system and at the same time nationally compete in order to stay economically strong.

Overall, Hartmann was open to a differentiated view of the situation in Syria and Afghanistan and spoke out against a repressive migration policy.
