Restore the conversion work on the spa promenade: Rainwater concept in Spandau
After completion of the central rainwater collection on the waterfront, the district office Spandau will begin the renovation work on the spa promenade on March 4, 2024. The road conditions in the former settlement WEST WEST WEST WEST, which directly border on the Groß-Glienicker See, are in poor condition. In heavy rain, the provisional roads are often under water, as the water flows into numerous plots and into the lake uncontrollably. This is to be remedied by the rain drainage concept, which was developed by the Berlin water companies in cooperation with the district office.
The construction work extends from the Ritterfelddamm to the Seekorso parking lot and will probably take place from March to early June 2024. After dismantling the old fastenings, the line networks are checked and repaired. Then a new road is installed, which corresponds to today's standards. The Seekorso parking lot also receives a new attachment.
Before the start of the construction work, a dialogue process between residents, citizens' initiatives, nature conservation associations and the district office took place several months in order to compromise a compromise for drainage and street space. This compromise is now being implemented with the first construction project in the spa promenade. Despite the necessary tree felling, replacement plantings within the settlement are planned.
Citizens have the opportunity to view further information on the rain drainage concept, the expansion of the spa promenade and the dialogue process carried out on the website of the street and green space office. Comprehensive information material is also available for download.
The most important information about the renovation work in the spa promenade is summarized in the following table:
