The starting signal for construction phase 3 on Pichelsdorfer Strasse in Spandau
The District Office Spandau begins on March 18, 2024 with the 3rd construction phase on Pichelsdorfer Straße, which brings important improvements to the infrastructure. The Berlin water operations renew the drinking water pipe on the western sidewalk, the NBB Netzgesellschaft renew the gas lines on the eastern sidewalk and the IT service center Berlin moves new cables.
In the course of the conversion measures, a pedestrian crossing with a side of the walkway at the confluence with Franzstrasse is built in order to offer pedestrians more safety when crossing the road. Furthermore, three bus stop areas for house numbers 75-77, 85-87 and 90-92 are created, the latter also preserved a side of the sidewalk. Ten tree slices are prepared for young trees and the surfaces are restored on sidewalks and lanes.
Since the construction work is based on each other and are limited in space, they are implemented one after the other. The traffic routing is adjusted several times during the construction process to maintain traffic. The stops along the route are laid to the edge of the construction site to minimize the effects on passengers. The construction work is expected to be completed by autumn 2024.
In the table below you will find a summary of the planned construction work:
| Measure | Implementation |
| ————————————— | --—————————
| Renewal drinking water pipe | Berlin water operations |
| Renewal gas pipes | NBB Netzgesellschaft |
| Laying new cables | IT service center Berlin |
| Construction of the pedestrian crossing with sidewalk lead | District office Spandau |
| New system bus stop areas | District office Spandau |
These construction work will not only improve the infrastructure, but also contribute to the safety and accessibility of Pichelsdorfer Straße. The residents and road users are asked to adapt to temporary traffic restrictions while the work is underway.
