Spandau celebrates: New meeting point for women and anniversary of Eulalia
A spectacular event is just around the corner: Eulalia Equinity e.V. celebrates twice on November 21, 2024- the 37th anniversary of the women's meeting point and the magnificent opening of the new specialist advice and intervention center against domestic violence in Spandau! An occasion that touches the heart and soul!
After ten years of intensive wrestling for support, the longed -for funding commitment of the Senate could finally be announced! Spandau receives the sixth specialist advice center against domestic violence in Berlin - an epochale step to improve the offers on site!
an association with history
Founded in 1987 by committed women of the 1970s in a dilapidated former drugstore, Eulalia Equinity e.V. The association has developed into a support for many women in the region over the years. The city knows the challenges - high unemployment, many single parents and a terrifyingly high poverty rate of almost 30%!
"Due to the meeting point, I am no longer alone and have found the courage to take my life into my own hands," reports a long -time visitor very emotionally. The association has always pointed out the precarious situation in Spandau and developed important help offers that are used more than ever today.
A milestone is reached!
"A milestone for the care of women affected by violence in Spandau has been done!" Cheers Franziska Milata, the managing director of the association. At a time when, according to the Berlin monitoring, violent delinquency (2023), the cases of domestic violence in Spandau are terrifying 40.1 % above the Berlin average, the opening of this specialist office is an absolute must!
With the help of a round table, in which high -ranking representatives from politics and social services took part, the path was prepared to ensure the necessary financial support for this essential institution. After all, women who are affected by violence no longer have to be left in a dark hour - they now find the backing that they deserve!
The opening ceremony will be a future -oriented festival with an exciting program, including readings, workshops, childcare and culinary delights! State Secretary Micha Klapp will also be there - a sign of how important these projects are on a political level!
All Spandauer are cordially invited to celebrate this glamorous occasion and to meet many inspiring women!
