Under the title "Update 25", the festival presents a rich and diverse program that attracts ensembles and soloists from all over Europe and enables deep immersion in the history and beauty of old music.

In a remarkable step, not only big names of the music scene, such as the Academy for Old Music Berlin and the Rias Chamber Choir, but also the musical offspring are represented by groups such as the Cantores Minores and the Yugenden Semble old music. This involvement of the young musicians clearly shows that the old music is not only a memory of the past, but is actively experiencing and constantly developing.

The importance of this festival goes beyond music. Cultural City Councilor Dr. Carola Brückner emphasizes that the promotion of Spam is an important way for the Spandau district of presenting itself with top -class cultural work.
"It is crucial that culture not only takes place in the central parts of the city, but also reaches a wide audience here in Spandau," she said. This shows how important it is to create and promote cultural offers in different parts of the city.

The motto "Update 25" refers to music -historical works that have been created in the 25s of the past centuries. The festival will offer a musical journey through time through over 700 years of European music history. From Mendelssohn's octet from 1825 to Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" to Caccini's opera from 1625 - visitors can look forward to a wide range.

The special selection of the venues, which include the St. Nikolai Church and the Spandau citadel, creates a unique atmosphere that optimally brings out the works of old music. These historical spaces not only offer an acoustically ideal environment, but also transport visitors to a different time.

Ticket sales have already started, and for the first time, the SpamCard 100 offers a personal festival ticket that enables access to all events. This ensures that music enthusiasts have the opportunity to discover all facets of the festival.

Under the patronage of the cultural senator of Berlin, Joe Chialo, as well as the artistic direction of musicologist Bernhard Schrammek and gambist Heidi Gröger, the festival will be realized with the support of the FKS Friends Kulturhaus Spandau e.V. The organization is located in the competent hands of Britta Richter, the head of the Spandau cultural center.

Spam not only represents a cultural highlight, but also affects the commitment to promote old music and the cultural diversity in Berlin and Spandau.
