Refurbishment of Schönwalder Straße from February 2024: All information!

The Schönwalder Straße in the north of the district will receive a new asphalt attachment from February 26, 2024. The work extends to the section between Neuendorfer Straße and the intersection of Bismarckplatz / Müllerstraße and require a half -side blocking of the road with traffic only in the direction of travel. Traffic, including the M 45, 134 and 671 bus lines, is diverted via the Groener and Bismarckstrasse. One -way street regulations and extensive stopping bans are put into force during the construction work to ensure the smooth flow of traffic for regular buses and heavy goods traffic. The Wröhmännerpark bus stop is temporarily moved to the section of Neuendorfer Straße between Bismarckstraße and Falkenseer Platz.

The Schönwalder Straße has a long story as one of the most important development streets in the district and as a historically grown connection to the northern neighboring communities. The first Spandau tram drove here in 1892. Despite the historical importance, the current asphalt ceiling has many cracks and outbreaks, which makes the old plaster visible. For security reasons and to avoid ancientia, the road fastening is expanded and a new construction of the road is created.

The construction work extends over a length of around 140 meters and comprises a total area of ​​approximately 1600 square meters of roadway. The cost of this measure amounts to around 190,000 euros and are financed from the district entertainment. The construction work is expected to be completed at the end of March.
