New cooperation agreement for promoting reading at schools in Spandau

The Spandau City Library has been focusing on working with children and adolescents for a year in order to promote reading ability and media literacy of pupils. By setting up two additional library positions in the children's and youth library, the media education offers and the inventory were supported in a total of ten school libraries. One of these primary schools that benefits from this professionalization is the primary school on the Weinmeisterhorn.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, a new cooperation agreement between school and library will be signed in the elementary school on Weinmeisterhorn. This marks the start for further cooperation contracts with other schools. In addition, the children of the library AG are honored who actively participate in the design of their school library. District City Councilor Dr. Carola Brückner will be present at the event to reward the good cooperation between the school and library and to support the efforts to promote reading.

Cultural City Councilor Dr. Carola Brückner emphasizes the importance of reading skills as the basis for equal opportunities and educational justice. The promotion of this ability in children and adolescents is therefore particularly important.
