New regional funds for old town actors
In the old town of Spandau, actors can now apply for new area fund funds to implement projects for the design of the old town. Under the program "Living Centers and Quarters" there are up to € 10,000 available to support ideas and projects with up to 50% of the investment costs. There are no limits to creativity, from new awnings to tables and chairs for outdoor catering to advertising systems in their own business or facade renovations.
District Mayor Frank Werwig encouraged traders, owners and residents of the old town to actively participate and submit their ideas. Suggestions can be submitted to the Altstadtmanagement Spandau by June 15, 2024. A jury of local actors will decide on the evaluation and selection of the projects. The condition for the funding is that the applicants bear half of the costs and the area fund gives the other half.
Interested parties can find out about the funding conditions on the website of the old town management Spandau and view an overview of the projects that have been funded so far. The team is available for advice and supports the application.Some of the funded projects from 2023 include the installation of new awnings at various shops in the old town. This shows the variety of supported projects and the possibilities that the area funds offer to increase the attractiveness and quality of life in the old town of Spandau.
