Jubilee duration exhibition in the Kulturhaus Spandau: History and Development in focus
The Kulturhaus Spandau celebrates its anniversary with a special permanent exhibition that shows the eventful history of the house and its contribution to the Spandau community. The exhibition will open on March 7, 2024 at 6 p.m. and is available free of charge. Visitors can view carefully selected photographs and information material from the archive of the founding member Bernd Malner. The former rectifier work, designed by architect Hans Heinrich Müller, has an exciting story that was revitalized in 1982 by a citizens' initiative. With the foundation of the "Kulturhaus association", the vision of an open house became a reality for the Spandau population. Despite numerous financial challenges and political friction, a cultural heart in the district was created in 1984 with the Kulturhaus Spandau, which would not have been possible without the immense use of the club members and the support from the Spandau district office. The exhibition not only illuminates history and ongoing cultural work, but also offers a unique opportunity to honor the development and contribution of the Kulturhaus to the Spandau community.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on March 7, 2024 at 6 p.m. and will be carried out by the district councilor Dr. Welcomes Carola Brückner. The former district councilor Gerhard Hanke appears as a speaker. Founding member Bernd Malner and curator Maria Weber offer a thematic introduction, and there will be musical entertainment by Pippo Miller and the film screening "Lebenswege" (1989) in the cinema.
The Kulturhaus Spandau has a long and significant story that is closely linked to the development of the district. The permanent exhibition offers insights into this story that are of great value for the local community. Visitors have the opportunity to appreciate the unique cultural development of the Spandau cultural center and to actively participate in the cultural design of the district.
As part of the anniversary exhibition in the Kulturhaus Spandau, a permanent exhibition on the history of the house is presented, which shows the eventful past of the former rectifier works and the development of today's cultural heart of the Spandau district. The table below offers an overview of the most important information about the opening of the exhibition.
