Inclusive making music with children: Cooperation project receives funding from August 2024
The cooperation project "Groovt’s together-inclusive music with children" from the Musikschule Spandau with the August-Hermann-Francke School and the Evangelical School Spandau will be funded as part of the project "Culture. The two schools are already working as a school without borders in a school project that focuses on a barrier -free school in which the individually different needs of all students are discussed. Some of the pupils with multiple and severe disabilities are trained at the same time, because all children have the right to learn together in a group with peers. The Musikschule Spandau will now offer the third partner inclusive, voluntary group lessons after the schoolchildren by getting together. The focus here is on projects that contain vocals, drums and dance. The district councilor for education, culture, sport and facility management Dr. Carola Brückner said positively about the funding commitment and emphasized the importance of maintaining the project after the funding period.
The promotion of the project "Groovt’s together- inclusive music with children" as part of the "Culture is strong. Alliances for education" from August 1, 2024 are expected to have a positive impact on local educational and cultural offers for children with disabilities in Spandau. The funding will enable the Spandau music school as the third partner in an existing school project with the August Hermann Francke School and the Spandau Evangelical School can offer voluntary group lessons. This will help to develop the musical and artistic skills of the students and at the same time to further strengthen the inclusive approach of the schools.
The August Hermann Francke School and the Evangelical School Spandau are already working successfully as a school without limits to create a barrier-free environment in which the individual needs of all students are dealt with. Some of the students with multiple and severe disabilities are inclusive to ensure that all children have the right to learn together in a group with peers.
As the third partner in the school project, the Spandau music school will offer singing, drumming and dancing after the summer vacation, including projects. This will not only promote the artistic skills of the students, but also strengthen the collaboration and understanding between the students of both schools.
Overall, the promotion of the project "Groovt’s - Inclusive Music Making Making with Children" will help strengthen the inclusion of children with disabilities and at the same time enrich the variety of cultural and musical activities in Spandau.
