The resistance of Dragqueens, Transpersonen, Latinas and Black Lesbians and Gays led to days of conflict with the police. On the first anniversary of the uprising, the first road parade under the name Christopher Street Liberation Day took place, which is considered the forerunner of today's Christopher Street Day.
