Exchange about accessibility and inclusion: visit from Almaty, Kazakhstan in the Spandau district office

Kazakhstan meets Spandau - exchange about barrier -free communities

On Wednesday, July 31, there was a significant exchange between the inclusion office of the German delegation from Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the Spandau district office. The meeting had the goal of discussing the implementation of accessibility and inclusion in Spandau in order to learn from each other and identify possible improvements.

The event brought together representatives from both countries to overcome language barriers and explore common values ​​in terms of integration and diversity. It was a unique moment of exchange that underlined the growing importance of barrier -free communities.

The discussion was led in German, English and even partially in Kazakh, which enriched the intercultural exchange. The participation of the coordinator for inclusion, Mirjam Ottlewski, as well as the district officer for seniors and people with disabilities, Sargon Lang, contributed to contributing various perspectives and experiences.

District Mayor Frank Werwig emphasized the importance of exchange and praised the efforts of Spandau to create an inclusive and barrier -free environment. With the “Spandau inclusive” project, the municipality has taken measures since 2013 to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities at the local level and to promote the participation of all citizens.

The exchange was an important step to bring the ideas and experiences from different countries together and to pursue common goals for creating barrier -free communities. It was a sign of solidarity and engagement for an inclusive society that views diversity as a strength.
