Berlin's wildlife expert, Derk Ehlert, expressed his skepticism in the RBB-Inforadio on Friday morning with regard to the claim that a big cat is free around in Berlin and Brandenburg. After analyzing the well -known video, he could only see two wild boars that ran from left to right. Ehlert added that he believed the witness, especially the police officers who actually saw such an animal. Nevertheless, he was surprised that no traces of the alleged predator have been found so far.

Although there is still no concrete evidence of the presence of a big cat, this has caused excitement and speculation in the region in recent weeks. Different people have claimed to have spotted a large cat near Berlin, but so far no evidence has been found.

The Berlin police have already strengthened its patrol activity due to the reported sightings to ensure the safety of the population. In addition, specially trained experts were used to examine the possible traces of the animal.

The fact that no traces were found makes Ehlert doubt. Usually, big cats leave clear footprints or other signs of their presence. Ehlert assumes that it may be a misjudgment or that the animal has already moved on.

It is not the first time that there are reports of free -range big cats in Germany. In recent years, sightings of pumas, lynxes and other large cats have been reported again and again. Often, however, these were outdated or exposed animals from a private attitude.

The authorities hope that the situation will soon clarify and clear whether a big cat is actually on the road in the region. In the meantime, the residents should be careful and, if necessary, inform the local authorities about suspicious observations.
