Sejazz Festival: Intimate opening concert inspires in Kempfenhausen
The Sejazz Festival: a pleasure for jazz lovers
The Sejazz Festival has long conquered a permanent place in the cultural calendar in the region. This year the festival was opened on August 13, 2024 with an extraordinary concert that took place in the Kempfenhausen knight. Torsten Zwingenberger on drums, Lionel Haas on the piano and Martin Lillich on the bass from the band Berlin 21 enthusiastic about 100 listeners with their creative game. The event not only represents a musical enrichment, but also shows how alive the jazz scene is on site.
creativity and virtuosity in focus
A striking feature of the finished concert was the fusion of different music styles. The band independently interpreted its own compositions, whereby the groove and swing were in the foreground. Only real virtuosos can manage to captivate the audience and musicians alike. Zwingenberger explained that it was about conveying a feeling instead of impressing with "intellectual fissing". This philosophy was more than well received by the audience.
impressive sounds from the savannah
A highlight of the concert was the creative performance, in which Zwingenberger imitated the noises of the African savannah with drums and rattles. This sound experience kidnapped the audience and enabled them to experience the variety of nature with their eyes closed. The final applause was overwhelming and illustrated the enthusiasm of those present. "I could have listened to the three forever," said a viewer after the concert.
The role of the Association Sejazz e.v.
This year the festival is organized by the Verein Sejazz e.V., which has been trying to establish jazz events in picturesque locations from the Starnberg districts, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Weilheim-Schongau since its foundation by Joachim Kaske and his colleagues. Your work means that jazz has a permanent place in the region not only in summer, but also in the winter months. This is supported by the supplementary program of "Jazz am See" under the Mayor Bernhard Sontheim.
preserve a lively culture
In view of the major mass events, as they are carried out by international artists such as Adele or Taylor Swift, Zwingenberger was concerned about the future of lively jazz culture. He emphasizes that the audience, which gathered in Kempfenhausen, is the lively proof that real jazz music is still valued and encouraged.program points and ticket information
