Scholz warns of new dangers: a damn serious time

Olaf Scholz, the Chancellor of the SPD, is under immense pressure, especially 43 days before the Bundestag election. At the SPD's party congress on Saturday, January 11th, he was asked to award new courage to the basis. But even though Scholz had expected a standing ovation and applause for minutes, the mood in the hall remained. The surveys for the SPD show modest 14 to 16 percent. Many listeners applauded more in a critical intention than Scholz said: "Maybe I should have hit the table earlier." This statement met with broad approval, but the hesitant reaction illustrated the disappointment within the party, as Berlin Live reported.

Scholz warned of "dramatic things" in his speech. He criticized the ongoing right -wing developments in Austria and pointed out the brutal war in Ukraine. In this context, he also became clear in his criticism of the AfD and its echo on the Russian propaganda. He emphasized that no country, no matter how small, should be afraid of a larger neighbor. This brought him back into conflict with the designated US President Donald Trump, whose demands on Greenland and Canada Scholz sees as unacceptable. "The principle of the inviolability of limits applies to every country," said Scholz, which he made very clear on this occasion, as News.de

In the context of German domestic politics, Scholz criticized the plans of the Union, which he described as "ideasless", and warned of possible social incisions that could arise from their suggestions. In the meantime, he presented the SPD as a lawyer for "normal people" with initiatives for a minimum wage of 15 euros and measures for rental price brakes. Scholz sees the future of the country secured by massive investments in the infrastructure, which supports its vision of social justice in order to restore trust in their own party.
