Shock in Schöneberger Park: attackers use irritable gas against passers -by!

On Friday evening there was a threatening incident in the Rudolph Wilde Park in Berlin-Schöneberg when a group of around 15 to 20 people passed without warning. The attacks were carried out around 10:20 p.m., and the perpetrators not only use physical violence, but also irritant gas to hinder their victims, such as the Tagesspiegel reported.

The attacks led to a total of eight people aged 18 to 21 years old who were looked after by the Berlin fire brigade on site. Fortunately, a hospital stay for the victims was not necessary. However, the attackers were able to flee quickly before the police arrived, which means that the perpetrators could not be caught at first.

Investigations and legal consequences

The police have initiated investigations due to these attacks due to particularly serious breach of the peace. Such behavior that endangers the security feeling of the citizens is by no means new in the capital, as the Berliner police . The police crime statistics (PKS) shows that law enforcement and the crimes recorded in Berlin are documented centrally, but many offenses remain unknown and are not shown.

These events are in the context of the increasing crime burden in the city. The PKS plays a crucial role in the analysis of crime and offers insights into various types of tort, suspects and crime developments. Sometimes, however, offenses are hidden, such as politically motivated crime or certain traffic offenses. An essential aspect is also the number of unreported cases, which depends on the adoption of the population.

reinforced focus on security

The incident in Schöneberger Park has again lifted the discussion about security patrols and prevention measures in public spaces. Citizens' initiatives have already put pressure on the authorities to use more police and security forces in parks and other public places. The concern of an increase in violent crimes and in particular against attacks on uninvolved remains.

While the investigation is continued, it remains to be seen whether the perpetrators who acted so unscrupulously on Friday evening can be caught. The police and the population are asked to stay vigilant and report suspicious things to prevent such attacks in the future.
