S-Bahn construction sites: Passengers have to change from January!

From January 3, 2024, S-Bahn traffic in Berlin is once again transformed into a challenge for commuters. The S-Bahn line S3 will drive through the Hirschgarten station for a total of twelve weeks between the S-Bahn stations Köpenick and Friedrichshagen without a stop at this station, such as Live reported. The renovation measures are part of a comprehensive project to maintain and modernize the rail network. During this time, the passengers that are regularly incurred and eliminated must switch to a replacement bus traffic that connects the Hirschgarten station with Köpenick.

The S-Bahn Berlin reacted quickly and will set up a replacement line called S3H from January 3 to March 31, which transports the commuters across the construction site. These buses stop at various points, including Brandenburgplatz and the Hirschartensiedlung to ensure that all passengers remain mobile. The exact departure times of the buses are not yet known, which is why the S-Bahn recommends consulting the current timetables before driving to avoid any inconvenience.

improved connections for Köpenick

In addition to the current changes in S-Bahn traffic, Köpenick will soon benefit from a new support for regional trains. This brings the district closer to the center of Berlin and, according to the Mayor of Berlin, will be an improvement for commuters. These new connections not only promise faster paths between Berlin and Brandenburg, but also make an important contribution to climate-friendly mobility and future traffic infrastructure in the region, such as Sbahn.Berlin emphasized.
