Return coalition in Berlin: Back during Hartz times and harder sanctions

"Nd.Dentag": Approach to a new era-comment on the "growth package" of the traffic light government

The self -proclaimed coalition of progress has taken a step backwards in its growth package. Instead of overcoming the state's neoclassical approach as an extended arm of the corporations and as a punishment instrument for supposedly those who want to work, the traffic light government of the neoliberal agenda has joined. Empty phrases have remained respect, trust and encounter at eye level, while the Hartz-IV-Calculation regime is even further tightened.

The Minister of Labor of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) tries to present this development as a mere post -control of the existing law. But this trivializes the reality. Even the Secretary General of the SPD, Kevin Kühnert, considers longer paths to work and harder sanctions. However, this is not a guarantee of more economic growth. In fact, it is only a revival of a discipline machine.

These measures go hand in hand with social cuts and small-small measures for the economy. Even parts of the entrepreneurial lobby believe that only a abolition of the debt brake can boost the economy. Extensive investments in the expansion of transport and social infrastructure as well as into the climate-friendly transformation of companies is required. The current government is thus becoming a step backwards coalition.

It is time to see that the citizens realize that this growth package does not bring the hoped -for progressive politics. The traffic light government has to become aware that real progress is only possible by departing neoliberal ideologies and a consistent investment in a sustainable future.

The capital Berlin must serve as a pioneer for a new era of change. It is up to people to exercise pressure and to work for a policy that focuses on the needs of society and the environment. This is the only way to achieve real progress for everyone.
