Der VfB Hermsdorf feierte kürzlich sein 125-jähriges Bestehen und zählt zu den ältesten Vereinen in Berlin. Mit 3563 Mitgliedern, darunter 1881 Jugendliche, bietet der Verein ein breites Sportangebot in 17 Sportarten in 23 Reinickendorfer Sporthallen. Gegründet im Jahr 1899 hat der VfB Hermsdorf zwei Weltkriege überstanden und wurde 1947 neu gegründet. Seit 1949 trägt er den Namen VfB Hermsdorf e.V. Der Verein hat im Laufe der Jahre zahlreiche nationale und internationale Siege errungen und wird Mitte Juli 37 Medaillengewinner ehren. The district mayor also praised the “local heroes” of the association, which shines through their commitment in sport and in the acquisition of young talent. Cyclists covered 160 kilometers on the Berlin Mauerweg for the club's anniversary.
