Thorsten Nagelschmidt presents new work 'work' in the Humboldt library
On Monday, June 3, 2024, the author Thorsten Nagelschmidt will be a guest in the Humboldt Library in Berlin to present his social novel "work". The literary city discussion "Berlin reads a book" is moderated by Thomas Böhm. In his novel, Nagelschmidt illuminates the lives of people who work on Berlin night and often remain unnoticed. He takes the reader on a journey through the city that never sleeps and shows the dark side of the output.
The novel “Work” raises questions about how a city changes that should always be young, and who ultimately bears the consequences. Thorsten Nagelschmidt, who is both an author and musician and lives in Berlin, has drawn a multifaceted picture of the nightly world of work in the city with his work.
The "Berlin reads a book" campaign transforms the city from May 26 to June 9, 2024 into a large reading group for the fourth time. The book “Work” was selected this year under over 300 suggestions. The organizers of the campaign are the State Association of Berlin of the German Library Association (DBV) in cooperation with the radio waves Radioeins and Radio3 (formerly RBBBultur).
The event will take place on June 3, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Humboldt Library, Karolinenstr. 19, 13507 Berlin, instead. Entry is free and everyone interested is welcome to take part in the literary city discussion.
