On Saturday, May 18, the baptism of the motorcycling boat (MRB) "Bammelecke" took place in the presence of Reinickendorf's district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU). The members of the Tegeler Station Forsthaus lovingly refer to the lifeboat as a "33", based on the radio names "Pelikan 33". The voluntary water rescuers of the Forsthaus station live according to their motto: "Love water - save lives." In cooperation with the German Life Rettungs Society (DLRG), you do important work on Lake Tegel. The DLRG is the largest voluntary water rescue organization in the world and stands for teamwork, responsibility and support.

The commitment of the lifesavers is described as exemplary by the district mayor. It emphasizes the importance of the volunteer in the water rescue service and thanks the helpers for their efforts. The godmother Emine Demirbürken-Wegner took part in the ceremony together with long-standing members of the DLRG and wished the motorcycling boat "Bammeleck" at all times.

The cooperation between the DLRG and volunteers is crucial for security on Lake Tegel. The work of the water rescue service requires both financial and temporal resources, which are often scarce. Nevertheless, the rescuers have been committed to the security of the citizens for decades and make an important contribution to society.
