Day of the open town hall in Reinickendorf: Fairtrade-Stadt & hands-on offers!

Next Saturday, September 21, 2024, the wing team of the Reinickendorfer district administration invites you to the day of the open town hall. In addition to information on services and career opportunities, a special event will be celebrated on this day-the official certification as a Fairtrade city district of Reinickendorf.

What does that mean specifically? The Reinickendorf district managed to fulfill the criteria as a Fairtrade Town and thus support fair trade at the local level. This step underlines the district's commitment to the future according to the 2030 agenda. During the certification ceremony, important milestones are presented on the way to the Fairtrade Town. Visitors also have the opportunity to try fairly traded products and to learn more about the background of the Fairtrade engagement in Reinickendorf.

The district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) will officially open the event at 2 p.m. In addition to numerous information stands by offices and political groups, visitors can expect a varied cultural program on the open -air stage. There will be short concerts, tours of the town hall and hands -on activities for young and old.

A special highlight will be the presence of the Bundeswehr, represented by soldiers from the Reinickendorfer sponsor company. The fire brigade, regulatory office and technical relief organization will also be on site with emergency vehicles.

For all interested parties, the doors to the historic town hall, the Trauzimmern and the Citizens' Office, which offers its services without allocation, open on this day. A burger truck ensures the physical well-being of the visitors.
