The district councilor for urban development, Korinna Stephan, visited the listed ensemble at Rallenweg 2 in Heiligensee together with representatives of the chimney sweep guild. The buildings have been empty for years because no sensible use has been found so far. The idea is to implement a monument-friendly training center of the chimney sweep guild where not only theoretical lessons take place, but also in theme pavilions exhibitions around energy and warmth are provided. The financing of the project has not yet been secured, which is why funding opportunities have also been discussed.
The training center is intended to serve as a central place where prospective chimney sweepers are trained in a practical way. The expert education of this professional group is of great relevance, especially with regard to the topics of fire protection and heat transition. Chimney sweeps play a crucial role in reducing CO2 emissions and are valuable contacts in these affairs for homeowners.
planned is also an opening of the site for the citizens. On the one hand, lunch is planned, on the other hand, the site should also be opened for information events surrounding energy and heat.
A special focus during the appointment was on the heat turnaround and the joint work of the district and guild in the area of the implementation of Berlin's thermal planning. Ideas and possibilities were discussed how good cooperation can be conveyed innovative approaches to reducing CO2 emissions.
The district councilor emphasized the important role of the chimney sweepers for climate protection. "The expertise of the chimney sweeps contributes significantly to the necessary climate protection, in particular also the heat planning in the district and find sustainable solutions. I am pleased that Reinickendorf homeowners will receive the opportunity to find out more in the future.
The training project has the potential to have a positive impact on the local community by not only creating jobs, but also promoting education and information about energy and warmth in the community. The institutionalization of such a training center can also be viewed historically, since it preserves and modernized the tradition of chimney sweeps in the region. A table with relevant information on climate protection and CO2 emissions in the region is conceivable here.
Overall, it is a promising project that supports important educational and climate protection goals in the region. It is to be hoped that the financing can be secured so that the training center becomes a reality and can have its positive effects.
