A heartbreaking situation in Berlin-Reinickendorf! Last year, almost 60 children desperately searched for a loving home. Tragically, 14 of these little souls remained without foster family. But a ray of hope is now beaming across the city: from this September there is a drastic increase in the care allowance!

For children between the ages of zero to six years, foster parents now got a whopping 420 euros per month - before that it was only 300 euros! And even better: The flat rate for the necessary materials was raised from 399 euros to an incredible 603 euros. For the temporary admission of children in emergency situations that last between three and six months, the educational allowance of 480 euros jumps to breathtaking 1470 euros! Newcomers among the foster parents can also look forward to a start bonus of 924 euros by the end of 2025.

In order to thank these committed people, the acquisition group for foster families and day care staff invited to a great festival on September 20. The event took place on the idyllic site of the Berlin Kanu Club Borussia e.V. Almost 70 guests gathered there-from foster families to day care workers-to enjoy the traditional dragon boat competition.

During the celebration, there was a lot of discussion about the new, generous increases in the care allowance and the start bonus applicable for one year. The nursing staff employees hope that even more people will find the courage to get involved in short and long-term care. A call to act, because everyone who reports may change the life of a child!
