Reinickendorf goes on foot: Traffic Days for Schulkids 2024
When the school started, he heralded an exciting initiative in Reinickendorf at the same time: the "On foot to school" campaign. From September 30th to October 2, 2024 there were a total of 460 children, in a very special way. It is all about the experience of getting safely and well from A to B - and on foot!
Already on Monday, September 30th, the event started in the youth traffic school on Aroser Allee 195. For the next two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1st and October, the campaign will then be moved to the heart of Reinickendorf, the youth traffic school at Senftenberger Ring 25 a. Exciting days for all little adventurers!
Together for more security and environmental awareness
School City Councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) smashed a clear appeal: "The way to school on foot is a wonderful opportunity to inspire children for movement, environmental awareness and social encounters." The joy of movement, the experience of the environment - the little ones should feel this up close during the traffic days. It's just a shame that it is often forgotten!
The children will master various challenges on a simulated way to school at seven exciting play stations. The senses are sharpened and playfully taken up topics such as security education, health promotion and environmental education. Who would have thought that learning could be so much fun?
an already proven concept
“On foot to school” is not a new concept, but has been successfully carried out in Reinickendorf's youth traffic schools for many years. Parents can breathe a sigh of relief: This initiative not only promotes safe way to school, but also prepares for the challenges of traffic reality. Ideal for a project day in primary schools - it couldn't be clearer!
The focus is not only on security, but also awareness of environmentally friendly mobility and health promotion. A win for everyone involved!
