Reinickendorf blooms: Students plant crocuses for a beautiful cityscape
On this steel blue Wednesday, October 16, 2024, there was a truly blooming action at Bernhard-Lichtenberg-Platz in Reinickendorf that will mix up the cityscape! The students of fox class 3a of the Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben primary school brought hundreds of crocus onions into the ground with full energy and a shoveling enthusiasm. The anticipation for the coming spring is already noticeable, because the square will soon shine in a breathtaking sea of colors - with a bright violet, sunny yellow and pure white!
The district councilor for education, Harald Muschner (CDU), did not miss out to express his enthusiasm: “It is easy to see how the children themselves tackle themselves and not only make the place, but also our Reinickendorf a bit more. A strong statement that makes the heart of every Reinickendorfer beat faster!
crocuses bring color to life!
This campaign, supported by the team of the Reinickendorf garden work school, is more than just a planting campaign! It is an Initiative for greening and beautification of public places that not only gives children the opportunity to design their surroundings themselves, but also to introduce them to the fascinating world of nature and the cycle of life. In fact, the young gardeners grabbed a commitment that is promising for the future!
- crocuses in violet, yellow and white - a colorful in spring!
- plant together, grow together - a strong sense of community!
- unique insights into nature for young people!
"The crocus planting symbolizes the hope of the coming spring and at the same time strengthens the community's sense of community. A unique experience that shows: Together we can bloom Reinickendorf!" Explains Muschner, who underlines the growing connection between children and their community.
