Portrait exhibition in the Volkshochschule Reinickendorf: Unique photographs with personal expression
On November 20, 2023, the exhibition "Portraits, but photographed with a sense", will be opened in the Volkshochschule (VHS) Reinickendorf. In the exhibition, participants present the portrait photographs that were created in the course under the direction of Corinna Radakovits.
The participants not only learned technical basics, but also various working methods, lighting, image design and posing. The exhibition particularly emphasizes the differences between documentary and staged portrait photography. There are very different and individual portraits.
"The impressive range of photographic art is revealed in the exhibited works. From black and white silhouettes to intimate portraits to powerful documentary recordings-every photography tells its own history," explains Education City Councilor Harald Muschner (CDU).
The photographers whose work shows the VHS have the ability to put the viewer into another world, to arouse emotions and to show us the beauty of the moment. The combination of technology, creativity and personal expression makes every exhibited recording a unique work.

The opening of this exhibition in the Volkshochschule Reinickendorf is another example of the cultural commitment and diversity in our Berlin district. Not only the course participants, but also the visitors are given a way to be artistically operated or inspired. In a big city like Berlin, it is important to appreciate and support such cultural offers.
It is gratifying to see how the adult education center as a place of education and encounter also offers space for creative development. This contributes to strengthening the sense of community and promoting creativity and artistic expression. Such cultural events contribute significantly to the quality of life and attractiveness of Berlin and are an important part of urban life.
Educational offers and cultural events such as these contribute to the enrichment of the Reinickendorf district and show that Berlin is a city in which diversity, creativity and individual expression are highly valued. The exhibition in the VHS Reinickendorf is not only an opportunity to admire impressive photographs, but also an expression of the living cultural scene in our city.
