Planning for the new Senheimer Straße building: Discussion about renovation and trees in Frohnau

District office invites residents to the citizens' dialogue for planned construction work

The district office is planning the new building on Senheimer Straße in the garden city of Frohnau between Schönfließer Straße and Zeltinger Straße for 2025. The road is heavily used and is no longer suitable for traffic. Both the road and the sidewalks have considerable defects and urgently need to be renovated.

Senheimer Straße is particularly important for the nearby fire station, as it is a quick connection to locations in southern Frohnau. Currently, the street is hardly accessible due to its condition for rescue and fire engines. Refurbishment is urgently required to ensure traffic safety and protect the residents from noise and vibrations.

In the past few weeks there have been controversial discussions about the planned construction work, especially with regard to the removal of trees. For this reason, the Frohnau citizens' association invited to an event in which City Councilor Julia Schrod-Thiel (CDU) also took part. In her words, she emphasized the need for a rapid renovation in order not to affect the work of the Berlin fire brigade. She promised to take the concerns of the citizens seriously and to involve further plans.

In order to continue the dialogue with the residents, the district office will carry out an information event after an evaluation of the second tree report. All interested citizens are cordially invited to contribute their concerns and suggestions and actively participate in the design of the construction work.
