New district region profile: Data for Reinickendorf now online!
On September 19, 2025, the complete district regional profiles for Reinickendorf will now be available online on the district office website. The district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner emphasizes that these profiles serve as a binding, cross-agency planning guide for the various departments of the district office. They enable structured observation of developments in the neighborhoods and demonstrate the need for measures to improve the social infrastructure.
The profiles are divided into two parts: The first part includes statistical values and figures for the twelve district regions, while the second part deals with the challenges, opportunities and necessary measures. This comprehensive information, which also includes demographic developments, social situations and aspects of education and health, is updated every five years, with the current status representing the year 2024. The individual district region profiles have been created by RegioKontext since 2017 and include, among others, the regions of Alt-Reinickendorf, Tegel Süd/Flughafensee, Tegel and the Märkischesviertel.
Function and objectives of the district regional profiles
The district regional profiles act as an important information tool that helps Berlin's districts to identify potential and needs in specialist planning. They not only provide a basis for decision-making and planning for district departments, such as social planning, but also promote cross-departmental planning and action. Regional context reports on the successful creation of several district regional profiles, which enable a detailed analysis of local conditions.
The extensive data from the profiles is often presented in interactive formats. Those interested can find out additional information and values by mouse-over maps or diagrams on the district office's website. A neighborhood map is also available that citizens can use to determine their own district region. Downloading the data in machine-readable format (CSV) provides another way to engage with the information provided.
Relevance of the data and future developments
The content of the district regional profiles is based on the fundamental topics of demographic structure, social situation, educational situation and housing situation, which are crucial for urban planning. According to the information on Berlin.de The interactive graphics can also be customized to bring out different indicators, helping citizens develop a better understanding of the district regions and actively participate.
By continuously monitoring and adapting the district regional profiles, the district office aims to sustainably improve the quality of life in Reinickendorf and to meet the special challenges of the respective districts.
