New migration advisory board in Reinickendorf - diversity, commitment and dialogues!

In the Reinickendorf district office, a significant step towards cultural diversity and integration was taken on September 25, 2024. The newly founded migration advisory board held its first session in the BVV hall. At the ceremonial meeting, the members of the advisory board got to know each other and presented their diverse migration stories, perspectives and experiences.

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) presented the advisory board members their appointment certificates and underlined the importance of the advisory board for the promotion of visibility and participation of people with a migration background. The Migration Advisory Board plays a crucial role in creating bridges, the dialogue between different groups and the recognition of the concerns of migrants.

The advisory board was launched in accordance with the Berlin Participation Act (Partmigg) of 2021, which provides for the establishment of such committees in every district. With a focus on migration, participation, diversity, interculturality, democracy promotion and anti -discrimination, the migration advisory board represents an important interface between administration and citizens.

The 15 members of the advisory board were selected by a specialist jury and will volunteer for the duration of the election period. The advisory board of the advisory board is closely linked to the office for participation and integration to ensure effective cooperation.

This initiative marks a significant step for Reinickendorf and emphasizes the efforts to integrate and an inclusive society.
