New traffic safety measures at the Hermsdorf S-Bahn station: one-way street and bus stop set up
In the area of the Hermsdorf S-Bahnhof, measures were taken to improve traffic safety on site. A one -way street has been set up, which prohibits entering into the Bahnhofplatz from the south. This should help to make traffic hubs safer. District councilor Julia Schrod-Thiel (CDU) emphasized the importance of security measures at such locations and indicated that similar steps have already been taken on the western side of the S-Bahnhof.
In addition, a provisional bus stop is set up in the Waldseeweg/Schloßstraße area in order to meet the adopted clock compression of line 806 of the Oberhavel Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH. This line is to end in the future every 10 minutes at the Hermsdorf S-Bahn station. Due to the required space for at least three articulated buses, the final stop for line 806 is moved to Waldseeweg. The laying of the bus stop and the establishment of the one -way street will not only increase traffic safety, but also improve the connections of Reinickendorf to the surrounding area. The measures are the result of the cooperation between the Berlin transport company (BVG) and the OVG and are intended to help strengthen local public transport.
The following table lists some relevant information on the measures mentioned:
