Crafts behind bars: Spring bazaar of the JVA Tegel a complete success!

The prison system (JVA) Tegel organized a spring bazaar on Saturday, April 13, in which around 200 prisoners presented their handmade works. The JVA site was revitalized that day like never before, while the sun was shining and the atmosphere was solemn. The impressive works came from various manual areas, including locksmith, nursery and carpentry. Each piece was presented as unique and showed the talent and the skills of the occupants.

The event was received positively by the visitors who had the opportunity to admire and acquire the handmade products. The spring bazaar offered the prisoners the opportunity to show their skills and creativity, as well as an insight into the positive aspects of re -socialization through work and craftsmanship.

The JVA Tegel has concentrated in recent years to offer the inmates opportunities for professional qualifications and further training. Through programs such as the locksmith, nursery and carpentry, the prisoners are given the opportunity to learn new skills and to improve their future prospects after the release of prison.

The re -socialization of criminals is an important aspect of prison, which aims to help the occupants to help the company after their release. Participation in manual activities can not only convey practical skills to the occupants, but also strengthen their self -esteem and prepare them for life outside of prison.
