Culture City Councilor Muschner fights against illiteracy in Berlin

The World Talphabetization Day, which is committed every year on September 8, the problem of functional illiteracy focuses on the public. Cultural city councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) actively supported the Alpha alliance Reinickendorf, which is emphasized for the literacy.

On September 9, Muschner visited the interactive status of the alliance in the Märkisches Zentrum am Senftenberger Ring 3 a in Berlin. He emphasized the importance of literacy for equal opportunities and social participation. Together with the family pilot Märkisches Viertel, the district library, the adult education center and the job center, targeted information and advice were provided to support people with reading and writing difficulties.

The day of the world of the world reminds the fact that illiteracy is a global problem. It is estimated that there are around 6.2 million adults in Germany who cannot read and write sufficiently. The Reinickendorf alpha alliance informed visitors about support offers and sensitized the importance of literacy in all age groups.

Muschner praised the commitment of the alliance and its partners and emphasized the common responsibility to give people the opportunity to improve their skills and to better integrate into society.
