On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the inclusion day of the Reinickendorf district. The event in front of the town hall on Eichborndamm is carried out from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the motto "Strong together". District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) is the patron of this important initiative. The aim is to reduce barriers and promote equality of all citizens, especially people with disabilities. This commitment is made possible by financial support from partners such as Berliner Sparkasse, Gesobau AG and BOS Spedition GmbH.

The stage program promises a colorful spectacle with a variety of appearances. Artists and groups such as the MajorettenCorps Berlin e. V., the acrobatics and unicycle kids from RC Tegel e. Guests with a need for support can be accompanied at the event to ensure optimal participation.

insight into inclusion and social responsibility

Inclusion day is not only a festival, but also an answer to the challenges that people with disabilities come across in society. According to the third participation report (BMAS, 2021), 10.4 million people with impairments are registered in Germany. The UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities calls for equal participation in this group in cultural and leisure events. Unfortunately, the reality often shows that barrier -free access is not always available, which makes participation more difficult.

Experts emphasize that the event market in Germany must be designed more inclusive in order to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The consideration of accessibility not only includes physical access, but also financial and cognitive aspects. The proposed recommendations for action include the sensitization of the event staff and the involvement of people with disabilities in event planning.

The inclusion day in Reinickendorf serves as a positive example and encourages to promote other, similar events and continue to take valuable steps towards a more inclusive society. The activities and the commitment of those involved show that inclusion and community can go hand in hand. The inclusion day offers everyone the opportunity to actively participate and strengthen the cooperation.
