Dr. Helmut Grill, der seit dem 12. Mai dem Club der Hundertjährigen in Reinickendorf angehört, wurde kürzlich von Bezirksbürgermeisterin Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) beglückwünscht. Der Jubilar, Vater von vier Kindern und Opa von fünf Enkeln, hat eine bewegte Lebensgeschichte hinter sich. He had to experience the horrors of the war up close, which did not prevent him from pursuing his life with determination.

After the war denied him the possibility of studying after his Abitur and he was amputated as a result of an injury, Dr. Grill Mittellos to the employment office. His professional career began as a phone call in Weimar, where he was drawn due to relatives. But his passion for numbers ultimately led him to work as an auditor in the state health office.

A formative experience of his youth were school trips to Kagar in Nordbrandenburg near Rheinsberg, where the numerous channels fascinated him. This enthusiasm for water management kept Dr. Finally, grill for distance learning at the Technical University, where he gained a degree as a graduate engineer. This orientation brought him back to Berlin in 1952, where he later even did his doctorate.
