A place of encounter and open discussions-this is what the first chattering on the new Quasseltreff-Bank promises right in front of the Reinickendorfer Rathaus! District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner and the committed loneliness officer Katharina Schulz cordially invite all Berliners to become part of this special moment on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
"Loneliness is a burning topic that hits all generations and layers! With our chattering, we would like to create a unique platform where people come together, exchange ideas and experience community," emphasizes Demirbüken-Wegner. Anyone who sits on these benches shows that they are open to new acquaintances. It is the beginning of a movement to actively combat loneliness in the neighborhood.

The Quasseltreff-Bank, which was installed on the Eichborndamm, is the first of its kind in the district and has already found rain. Two other benches are now available on Kolpingplatz and the picturesque Greenwich promenade to promote the social contacts of the Berliners. The strategy behind it? The creation of an inviting room in which everyone can get into conversation.
"Let us come together, close with free tea, and make new acquaintances! We look forward to numerous participants who take the first steps into a convivial future with us!", Schulz invites the citizens. The Quasseltreff is not only a way to contact us, but also the beginning of an initiative to strengthen social cohesion.
