Memorial event for victims of the GDR people's uprising in Reinickendorf
On Monday, June 17, 2024, the district office and the district council of Reinickendorf will lay down wreaths at the memorial on Berliner Strasse in Berlin-Tegel in memory of the victims of the popular uprising. This is an important gesture in order not to forget the events of the uprising over 60 years ago and to pay respect and recognition to victims.
The popular uprising in the GDR took place in 1953 and was an important event in the history of the country. People rose against the government and demanded better living conditions and more political freedom.
