Spring cleaning in Reinickendorf starts with great participation

Reinickendorf starts his annual spring cleaning campaign and calls up citizens to actively participate in cleaning playgrounds, courtyards and green areas. The campaign runs until March 22nd and this year is also supported by the Berlin city cleaning companies (BSR) that provide free “sweeping packages”. District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner and district councilor Julia Schrod-Thiel visited the first hardworking helpers, including children from the "Freie Scholle" daycare center at the Steinbergpark. The children showed great commitment and even gathered carelessly thrown away cigarette buttocks.

Julia Schrod-Thiel, district councilor of the order, environment and transport department, also announced three hands-on appointments in which everyone interested can take part. The dates will take place on March 13th at 3 p.m. around the town hall of Reinickendorf, on March 18 at 4 p.m. in the Schäferseepark and on March 22nd from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the Märkisches district. Equipment from the BSR Court Citizens' campaign is provided, but own brooms and pliers are also welcome.

The campaign is part of a long tradition of the Reinickendorf district to improve the cityscape through joint actions and to raise awareness of cleanliness and environmental protection. In the past, similar initiatives have led to a positive response to the population and strengthened the feeling of togetherness in the district.

In the following table, the dates for the hands-on activities are clearly shown:

| Date | Time | Location |
| ————— | ———-——————— |
| March 13 | 3 p.m. | Rathaus Reinickendorf |
| March 18 | 4 p.m. | Schäferseepark |
| March 22 | 11-12: 30 | Märkisches Viertel |
