a place full of history
Between 1942 and 1945, the area on Billerbecker Weg 123 A was one of the largest Nazi compulsory workers in Berlin, operated by a subsidiary of the Borsig company. With a shocking capacity of up to 1500 inmates, this place became a symbol of forced labor in the Third Reich. To this day, parts of the old buildings are silent witnesses of this dark time.
The Cultural City Councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) said: "These tours are an important way to remember the history of this place and to pay respect for the victims of the Nazi compulsory work. The importance of these tours could not be clearer!
moving insights into the past
The tours not only offer historical insights, but also provide a look at the later use of the site as a garden work school. A memorial room on the site shows fascinating finds from the everyday life of forced laborers who tell moving stories.
