Discover the European connections in Tegel: Kiez walk on July 12th, 2024
Discover Europe in your neighborhood!
On July 12, 2024, we cordially invite all citizens to a European neighborhood walk through Tegel. This unique experience offers the opportunity to discover hidden connections to Europe in our immediate vicinity. The meeting point is at 4 p.m. at the Schinkelbrunnen near the Alt-Tegel underground station. District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) emphasizes the importance of this walk, which has already taken place for the third time and is slowly approaching a beautiful tradition.
The approximately 2.5-hour neighborhood walk, organized by the Europa Union Berlin e.V. and the district's EU representative, leads us through Tegel in various places with a European flair. From the Humboldt Library to Tegel Castle to the Blau-Weiß Tegel water sports club-every step reveals new aspects of European connection in our district. The path continues to the archaic archangel, over the sixth bridge and finally ends at the picturesque green wich promenade. A cozy get -together in the Wetterstein Café rounds off the walk.
During the tour you will learn more about the European references of the sights, the city twinning in the district and the important role of the EU representative. Participation in the walk is free, but the number of participants is limited.
