A look behind the scenes: Open day at the Lübars fire brigade

summer festival of the Hermsdorf fire brigade: a sign of community and commitment

On September 8, a remarkable day took place in the fire station in Lübar, which celebrated both the day of the open monument and a festive togetherness. Organized by the support association of the Hermsdorf volunteer fire brigade and the Hermsdorf-Lübar youth fire brigade, the summer festival offered the opportunity to find out about the important work of the fire brigade and at the same time strengthen the sense of community.

The day was enriched by the presence of prominent guests, including Reinickendorf's district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU). The mayor described the importance of volunteering and paid tribute to the continuous efforts of the firefighters. "Without the dedication and tireless efforts of the fire brigade, security in our community would suffer a lot," she emphasized in her speech.

On site, the organizers of the festival, including Andreas Schmiegel from the honorary department of the Berlin fire brigade, and Frank Olaf Gutsche, the chairman of the association, led the visitors through the exciting stands. The offers ranged from the presentation of the emergency vehicles to technical demonstrations that have thrown on how firefighters work in action and how important their role is in the community.

The opportunity for visitors to talk to the volunteer firefighters was also particularly noteworthy. This offered the opportunity not only to collect information, but also to get to know the human side behind professional work. The conversations between the mayor and the volunteers enabled a deep insight into the motivation and challenges associated with the service in the fire brigade.

Events such as this summer festival play a crucial role in strengthening the sense of community and recognizing volunteers. Such events contribute to beating bridges between the population and the volunteers and promoting awareness of the importance of voluntary commitment. "A big thank you to everyone who is willing to save lives," concluded the mayor, and thus consolidated the idea that the well -being of the community rests on the shoulders of this tireless helper.
