Under the direction of Alexander Maulwurz, young actresses aged 18 to 26 from all over Berlin have been working in workshops since the beginning of the school year 2024/25 that deal with temporal issues. Concepts such as "have time", "take time" and "time as a construct" are treated. The theater group Dramart, which has been active for over ten years and comprises up to 12 changing players, shows through these workshops how cultural education can be implemented in a practical way.
cultural education in focus
Cultural City Councilor Harald Muschner from the CDU emphasizes the fundamental importance of cultural education in Reinickendorf. The initiatives and programs of the youth art schools, as they are represented by the Federal Association of Youth Art Schools and Cultural Educational Institutions , are a valuable addition to school offers. These institutions combine art, media, dance and culture and offer young people in Germany access to diverse cultural educational offers.
Every year, around 500,000 children and adolescents use the offers of youth art schools that are active in various areas such as visual arts, theater, photography and music. This creates spaces for creative experimentation and promotes social skills such as team spirit and critical thinking. The programs are based on the child and youth welfare law (Section 11, Paragraph 3: Cultural Education) and offer opportunities for cultural participation for all ages and backgrounds.
Various offers for young talents
In Berlin, the state working group of youth art schools cooperates with various cultural institutions in order to offer a wide range of workshops and projects. The goal is to combine all the arts under one roof and create an accessible experiment space.
The Atrium Youth Art School itself offers a variety of programs that are aimed at creative young people. Here, drawing courses, dance projects and productions are carried out in public space, which promotes and strengthens the commitment and creativity of the participants.
