The strange kafka: humorous reading performance on the 100th anniversary of death

On October 11th at 7.30 p.m., the Humboldt library becomes the setting for a unique musical reading performance! The focus is on the 100th anniversary of the death of the legendary writer Franz Kafka, but be careful: This time the dark aura of his works is flooded with an unexpectedly humorous light! "The strange kafka" is the name of the event that transforms the author's dark thoughts into a happy game.

Franz Kafka - The name arouses associations with profound, often depressing texts. But the opposite is celebrated at this event! The actor Walter Prettenhofer and the talented musician Hanno Koloska present a rousing mix of reading and music, which brought Kafka's literary treasures from the anthology "Der Kärische Kafka", published by Günter Stolzenberger, to life in a lively way. Here, short stories, poems and letters meet on continuous performance in which everyday situations are exaggerated in a humorous way.

an evening full of surprises

Cultural city councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) can hardly wait! He emphasizes: "Kafka is full of surprising turns and a humor that is often overlooked. This performance invites us to see him from another side and to be able to smile." A truly refreshing look at the works of the important Prague writer, which is reinterpreted here. Muschner is pleased that literature and music interact with each other harmoniously and offer the audience new perspectives.

Both artists bring impressive CVs with them: Walter Prettenhofer, a master of his field, is a graduate of the Mozarteum in Salzburg and was previously a permanent member of the ensemble at the Volkstheater Vienna. Hanno Koloska, on the other hand, studied at the University of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin and played at the Berlin Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. Her experience makes her ideal ambassadors for Kafka's strange side, while they intertwine the episodes and captivate the audience.

And the best? Admission is free! A cultural highlight that nobody should miss! For more details and information it goes to: www.stadtbibliothek-reinickendorf.de .
