125 years VfB Hermsdorf: start of the anniversary celebrations

VfB Hermsdorf can look back on a 125-year club history this year and opened the celebrations for the anniversary with the traditional New Year's reception in the sports casino on the Ried. District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner congratulated the association on behalf of the district office. She was accompanied by the district councilors for social affairs and health, Uwe Brockhausen, as well as for order, environment and transport, Julia Schrod-Thiel. President Werner Sauerwein gave an impressive speech and emphasized the importance of the association for the local community. The Mayor praised the history of VfB Hermsdorf and described the New Year's reception as a wonderful start to the anniversary year.

VfB Hermsdorf has been responsible for the sports facility on Seebadstrasse since October 1, 1999, which has been left to the association using a "large key contract" for priority use. The district supports the association with a management subsidy. In 2022, the locker building was renovated energetically, and in 2020 the large natural turf field was converted into an artificial turf pitch for € 1.2 million from the local investment program. Another large-scale artificial playing field is to be renovated this year with the district's investment funds, for which € 1 million is estimated.

The actual anniversary celebration of the association with almost 3,500 members is planned for the 09.06.2024 on the site of the Seebadstrasse sports facility and will certainly be a highlight of the celebrations.
