Interview with forensic doctor Michael Tsokos: A look behind the scenes
The well -known forensic doctor Michael Tsokos recently spoke in an interview about his impressive career and the reasons for leaving the management of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Berlin Charité. In his longstanding area of activity, Tsokos has recorded numerous progress in forensic medicine, especially with regard to virtual autopsy and hair analysis. Despite his demand for better trained doctors for the corpse show, there have so far been no significant changes in this area, which could overlook many fatal cases.
The topic of death and forensic medicine is always treated factually and professionally by Tsokos in interviews, emphasizing that his goal is to clarify and to bring people closer to the truth. Over the years, Tsokos has noticed that interest in forensic medicine has increased, although death is still a taboo subject. Especially in big cities such as Berlin, where people can die lonely, the importance of forensic medicine in the investigation of deaths becomes clear.
tsokos remembered particularly impressive cases, including rotted corpses in apartments in which the face was literally melted away. Such scenarios illustrate the gloomy realities with which forensic doctors are confronted every day. Despite the hard challenges that Tsokos met in his profession, he repeatedly emphasized the need to explain people about the work of forensic medicine and uncover grievances.
