Interview with forensic medicine legends Michael Tsokos: Insider insights and shocking revelations

Michael Tsokos, a well -known forensic doctor in Germany with hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, wrote many successful books and produced documentaries. Since 2007 he has headed for legal medicine at the Berlin Charité and decided at the end of 2023 to give up this position. In an interview with the Berliner Zeitung, he spoke about the differences between forensic medicine and pathology and emphasized that he also helps living people in a variety of ways.

Even as a child, Tsokos experienced a formative moment when he had to watch his mother tried to reanimate a man. This experience led him to forensic medicine, where he campaigns for the investigation of processes and prevention. Tsokos also critically commented on the education system in the field of medicine, which often takes high high school grades as a criterion and does not always assess the suitability for medical professions.

In terms of his decision to give up the management of forensic medicine at the Charité, Tsokos gave several reasons. He emphasized that university medicine should not be politicized and criticized the development of the Charité in this regard. He also described the acceptance of the apprenticeship and the lack of personal exchange between lecturers and students. This meant that he was considering teaching in Hungary.

tsokos also made critical comments on corona policy and the definition of causes of death in connection with pandemic. He emphasized the importance of a differentiated view of deaths to ensure precise statistics. In addition, he spoke about progress in forensic medicine, such as hair analysis and computer tomographic examinations that are helpful in virtual autopsy.
