Legal medicine expert Tsokos talks about mysterious death and the future

Michael Tsokos is the best-known forensic doctor in Germany and has headed the Law Medicine Institute of the Berlin Charité since 2007. At the end of 2023 he gave up this position. In an interview with the Berliner Zeitung, he spoke about various topics such as the distinction between forensic medicine and pathology, his decision to become a legal doctor and the challenges he met in his field.

As a renowned forensic doctor, Tsokos emphasized the importance of independent university medicine and criticized that the Charité had become too political in his eyes. He expressed dissatisfaction in particular with regard to Corona policy and student education.

tsokos emphasized that the virtual autopsy has become standard in Berlin through computer tomographic examinations and could help solve difficult cases. Furthermore, he commented on old court files, as in the deaths of Whitney Houston and Kurt Cobain, and expressed his conviction that Whitney Houston was murdered.

In the course of his career, Tsokos has carried out over 50,000 sections and emphasized the importance of adequate training for body showers in order not to overlook killing offenses and other cases. Despite the sensitivity of his profession, Tsoko's respect showed great respect for the deceased and tried to bring at least the public closer to the public in order to reduce misunderstandings and prejudices. With a view to the future, Tsokos plans to focus on writing books and continue his scientific work.
