in Berlin-Lichterfelde, the 14th December 2024, a presumably right-wing extremist attack on election workers of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) occurred. As the police Berlin , the victims were attacked at a bus stop when they were committed to an information stand. The attackers, who are all between 16 and 19 and were identified as members of the right -wing extremist scene, initially insulted the election workers and then attacked them physically. There were serious injuries during the attack: an SPD election worker had to be taken to a hospital, and two police officers were also injured during the arrest of the perpetrators.
The police later found four suspects and issued arrest warrants against them. While three of the young men are already in custody, a 19-year-old was released from enforcement under conditions. These attacks occurred, while the young men were apparently on the way to a right -wing extremist march where they intended to conflict with "left". SPD general secretary Matthias Miersch expressed the attacks sharply and emphasized that such violent acts illustrate the danger of right-wing extremism for society.
