Rammstein concerts in the Berlin Olympic Stadium take place

The Rammstein concerts in the Berlin Olympic Stadium can probably take place as planned from the coming weekend. Despite Fording voices for a ban on the appearances, the Berlin cultural senator Joe Chialo (CDU) rejected these demands. He emphasized that there was no legally lever for a ban. However, he also showed understanding for the emotional reaction to the allegations against the band.

The band is planning concerts in the sold-out Olympic Stadium with more than 60,000 tickets each as part of their European tour on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday (July 15/18 and 18. Protests against the appearances have been announced. At the end of June, the Campact association handed tens of thousands of signatures against the band's planned concerts in Berlin.

Background of the discussions are allegations against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann, who were raised by several women, partly anonymous. According to the descriptions, sexual assault is said to have occurred at concert events.

Till Lindemann vehemently rejected these allegations and is legally represented on this matter. In a message, it is said that there were serious allegations against him on social networks, but which are, however, without exception. It is claimed that women have been stunned with K.-O. drops or alcohol at Rammstein concerts in order to be able to perform sexual actions on them.

The Berlin public prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation against Till Lindemann due to the media reports. If the public prosecutor experiences a suspicion of a crime, it is obliged to investigate. The presumption of innocence applies until the end of the investigation.

Culture Senator Chialo had already emphasized when the concerts in Berlin canceled the first demands that he took the allegations of women seriously. At the same time, however, he also emphasized that the presumption of innocence applies. According to Chialo, the speed at which events develop is a special challenge.

It remains to be seen whether the protests have an impact on the Rammstein concerts and whether further developments will be made in connection with the allegations against Till Lindemann.
